Economic Analysis and Research Fellow, Israel Securities Authority (I.S.A) – Economics Department - Provided by Multiple Providers  

The Fellow will be required to complete a substantial research project in the field of financial securities regulation. He/she will be expected to present their findings to decision-makers within and outside the ISA. While this is the primary task, the Fellow may also be needed to assist other researchers within the economics department in their work. The Fellow may also have to attend conferences, seminars and meetings in finance and securities regulation.

The Israel Securities Authority, established in 1968, was established to protect the interests of the investing public. Amongst other things, the Authority fights such phenomena as securities fraud, use of inside information and secreting material information from investors.

Israel Securities Authority – Economics Internship

The Israel Securities Authority (ISA) was established under the Securities Law, 1968 and its mandate is to protect the interests of the investing public. Amongst other things, the Authority fights such phenomena as securities fraud, use of inside information and secreting material information from investors. While the ISA does not have rule-making authority, it drafts and initiates virtually all primary and secondary legislation pertaining to securities law in Israel. In addition, it cooperates with government industries in formulating policies and laws pertaining to capital market activity. The Economics Department’s job is to give economic advice to the chairman of the Authority and to the various departments of the Authority on matters of an economic nature.

The Economic Analysis and Research Intern will be required to complete a substantial research project in the field of financial securities regulation. The Economics and Research Department analyzes information on economic developments in Israel and abroad and presents its policy assessments to the Finance Minister. The department is responsible for modeling and forecasting the macroeconomic indicators that are used in budget calculations, and regular reports on the Israeli economy.
